Productivity in the Time of the Pandemic

Productivity in the Time of the Pandemic

Hey. Psst you. Yes you. It’s ok. And if it’s not, it will be.

It’s ok that you haven’t posted in over a month.

It’s ok if you haven’t Marie Kondo’d your shit yet.

It’s ok if your roots are showing and your beard is greying.

It’s ok if you don’t drink enough water everyday (actually no, please try to)

It’s ok if you gained a few pounds.

It’s ok to question everything and nothing at the same time.

It’s ok to wish for this to go away, but it’s also ok to embrace new possibilities.

For as human beings, don’t we thrive on what’s new and exciting?! Sometimes that means we have to ditch the old ways.

The old ways of polluting, our earth, our minds, our tongues, our bodies.

And try to contribute less to waste, mindless tv, choose our words carefully, and give our bodies nutritious food (as much as possible) to age gracefully.

Because you will age. That is a fact. HOW you age, is up to you.

I’ve been taking more carefully curated supplements & adaptogens to suit my needs. And let me tell you I’m feeling better about myself. pats self on the back

Green Tea - for a dose of antioxidants

Turmeric - the wonder root!

St Johns Wort - nature’s anti-depressant

Fenugreek - lowers blood sugar levels

Cinnamon Alpha Lipolic Acid - weight loss and again lowering blood sugar levels, treats diabetes nerve pain

Garlic perles - great for common cold

Collagen - for hair, skin, nails

and this is my list so far.

Point is, this pandemic is shifting our focus. Collectively and individually. I’m trying my hardest not to be a conspiracy theorist but I can’t. This is just too wild to be a coincidence. So I’m choosing to deject myself from the bigger picture momentarily and focus inward. On me. My psyche. My breathing. My legacy. What do I want to leave behind?

I want to tell my story. Through food. Through living life with and without the internet. (Btw can you imagine that?) I want to lie on my death bed knowing that I lived a full and well life. That is, if I even have the privilege of a death bed and I’m not killed randomly in some freak accident. Or god forbid, Covid! Can’t let Rona get me.

The point is, this pandemic is the best thing for my lazy ass because now the world is moving at my pace, a slower one. And it’s ok if you haven’t done that thing you said you’d do. I haven’t either.

but we will.

Together.

But apart.

cuz I hope you’re staying at home.

Curiously yours,

Hessa
